World Leader in Marine Exhaust

Centek hosts Rep. Austin Scott, Congressman for the 8th District

Congressman Austin Scott, (GA-08) a House Vice-Chairman of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, recently paid a visit to the headquarters of leading exhaust systems manufacturer Centek Industries.

Rep. Scott, currently in his 4th term representing Georgia’s 8th Congressional District, is a leading advocate in Washington for protecting the rights of recreational boaters and fishermen.  He is also a member of the House Armed Services Committee and House Committee on Agriculture where he serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Commodity Exchanges, Energy and Credit.

Rep. Scott’s visit to Centek included a plant tour and roundtable discussion with Centek employees on a wide range of issues of concern to Centek and the marine industry, including healthcare reform, taxes and burdensome federal regulations.

“The people of Middle and South Georgia are known for their hard work and ingenuity and that couldn’t be better exemplified than in the case of Centek Industries,” said Rep. Scott.  “Over the last 55 years, Centek has grown to become a world leader in marine exhaust systems and we couldn’t be more proud to have them call Georgia’s Eighth District home,” he added.

“We really appreciate the time Rep. Scott took out of his busy schedule to not only learn about our business, but also about the challenges facing our business and industry,” said Centek CEO Bill Hodges.
